Joey’s Review:
The Limit of Desire is Book Three in The Limit Wars series, though it is not imperative that you read them in order to keep up. It didn't take me long to get my footing in the continuing story, though I did not yet read the first two books. Nico Rosso's first two books in the series were reviewed earlier in 2011 by our reviewers, both times to positive results.
I can see why they were well-liked. Mr. Rosso is quite a capable writer, and is pretty darn good at world-building, which is especially necessary in sci-fi themes. Add to that the ability to include a romance that works, and you've got an enjoyable escapist read.
Jessa is that strong female lead we ladies love to root for. Ryder is right up my alley, amusing yet brave and determined. This story isn't heavy on the romance, though it is the glue that holds the plot together, if that makes sense. The action is heavy throughout, so if you're looking for roses and violins playing in the background, you won't find it here. However, this is definitely a read for sci-fi fans who want some sizzle with the action.
